Fishing / Fly Fishing

A New fly and tackle shop has opened in Mt. Holly Springs, PA

Precision Fly Fishing and Tackle opened March 30, 2018. It is located at 502 North Baltimore Avenue. It has everything an angler will need. Located between Mt. Holly Beverage (which sales cigars too) and the Subway and Sheetz stores, with a trout stream in the backyard  (one of the unsung streams of Cumberland County) this store has fly tackle as well as conventional tackle and bait. Open 7 days a week, you will find a warm welcoming atmosphere where anglers can congregate, and prices that are hard to beat.

Air Ivanhoe, Ontario, CA

Great people, very accommodating. Great fishing. Highly recommended. It’s a bit of a drive to get there but worth it.

Mount Maker Charters, Atlantic Beach, NC

Captain Chris cleaning some redfish – that were delicious by the way.

Some of the best fishing in North Carolina is found at Atlantic Beach – Moorehead City – Beaufort — The Crystal Coast.  The fishing can be phenomenal all year long for various species.  If you go plan on booking a trip with Captain Chris Kimrey of Mount Maker Charters.  He offers charters both inshore and nearshore. He also offers fly fishing trips. If you think your 3 weight trout rod is too small for saltwater you are right; It is! But book a trip anyhow. Captain Chris can provide all the gear you will need. His new 24′ Pathfinder boat is set up for fly fishing with flush cleats and fittings that won’t snag your fly line.  You can even fly fish for sharks, but leave the 5 weight at home.  Highly recommended!

Chasin’ Tails Outdoors, Atlantic Beach, NC

Chasin’ Tails Outdoors is one of my all-time favorite bait and tackle shops. Located on the causeway at Atlantic Beach, North Carolina they are open early and stay open late to accommodate anglers’ needs. This is where you can stop, ask questions – and most importantly – find answers to what’s biting, how to catch what’s biting and where to go to catch what’s biting.

Captain Joe Shute This shop is a great source of information for fly fishers heading to the Crystal Coast of North Carolina. On the causeway at Atlantic Beach, it is easy to find and can provide you with a wealth of information about where and how to fish.

Captain Tom Ireland, Huntingtown, MD.

Captain Tom Ireland’s boat the Patience is a 42 foot boat capable of taking up to 14 clients at one trip. He launches out of the charter docks on Back Creek at Solomons, MD. Highly recommended for families, as one can move freely about and the boat has a head.
